Build Site Authority By Celebrating Your Victories Online
Site authority is built up over time by being perceived by search engines as comparatively successful at certain tasks.
When your site has a lot of backlinks it is perceived as popular
If the site has many great reviews and responses it is seen as authoritative
Engagement on site with low bounce rate mean your site is useful
There is a lot more to a Google Search Keyword Ranking than just this. Some of the metrics and methods are proprietary and are not released publicly. That means there is an amount of ‘artistry’ required to interpret things sometimes and make a good decision.
One of the best ways to build site authority, get backlinks, earn engagement and potentially receive reviews is by celebrating your victories and successes publicly online over social media and websites.
Mark Williams Windsor Ontario President's Gold Award Winner
This last month was a big one for one of my clients, Mark Williams REALTOR®. His sales volume has been picking up & has been in the office top 10 sales people 2 months in a row.
Mark also just hit his one year anniversary at Bob Pedler Real Estate Limited Brokerage. They then announced that he had won the President's Year End Gold Award for his first 12 months. Quite the accomplishment!
To help him get the word out about his hard work and successes I made him a social media post using Canva
306 Engagements For A Facebook Page With ~60 Likes
The results of the post were spectacular. He had an organic reach of almost 2000, and got hundreds of organic engagements. We then decided to tweak the text of the post, and pay for a short run as a Facebook Ad focused on link clicks to the website.
On the website there was significant engagement. People were spending over a minute and a half on pages, some up to five minutes. People were navigating to and reading sections like About Mark & Contact Mark. More than a dozen people were genuinely trying to learn more about him to see if they like him. $20 has been worse spent than that.
Unfortunately there were no calls, which means that the content didn’t connect with them. If this continues it may be time to reevaluate the content to make it more valuable or emotionally connective.
SEO is a constant endeavour that will require learning and trying many permutations before achieving all of the goals that are set by a business. If you can get hundreds of engagements on a post linking to your website by a facebook page with 66 followers, you did something right. Follow that lead.
